Easter program explores deep personal renewal

Via email today Thomas Moore announces his Easter weekend program, Waking Up to an Engaged and Vital Life at Kripalu Center, 6-8 April 2012. Moore presents with his wife, kundalini yoga teacher Hari Kirin Kaur Khalsa. The Waking Up to an Engaged and Vital Life program description on the Kripalu Center site includes online registration. Focus of talk in London is pleasuring the soul

London's Re-Vision, Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis hosts Thomas Moore the evening of Friday 20 April 2012 for his public talk Pleasuring the Soul.

According to the Re-Vision site, "This talk will be informed by Epicurus, Marsilio Ficino, William Blake, Emily Dickinson, D. H. Lawrence and Oscar Wilde. It will also find insight in the mythology of the Graces and will consider the importance of a graceful existence. These issues may seem light and superficial. They are not. They lie at the very heart of our relationship problems, depression, cultural ennui and aggression."

Lecture and workshop in Sarasota this weekend

Today Susan Rife writes "Care of the Soul author to lecture, lead workshop at Sarasota Memorial Hospital" for the Herald-Tribune, Sarasota. Rife's sidebar states, "Thomas Moore, author of Care of the Soul in Medicine, will give a lecture at 7 p.m. Jan. 20 and a workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 21 in Waldemere Auditorium at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Tickets are $25 members, $30 nonmembers for the lecture, $85 and $95 for the workshop. Register at www.cgjungsarasota.org. Sponsored by the C.G. Jung Society of Sarasota."

In this piece Rife writes, "Soon after Care of the Soul was published, 'People began calling me and writing to me and asking me to come and speak to doctors and nurses and specialists,” said Moore, a psychotherapist and former monk who has written numerous books on spirituality. "The first thing I discovered is a lot of people working in hospitals are confused about how to deal with death, with patients who are dying, and the families of the patients.'" Rife describes recommendations for medical patients in Moore's work.

Rothko Chapel hosts Art, Dreams and Spirituality

The Rothko Chapel in Houston, Texas promotes its 3 March 2012 program with Thomas Moore: Art, Dreams, and Spirituality: "Author, psychotherapist and lecturer Thomas Moore will explore the connections between spirituality, dreams, and art, and will discuss how to interpret great works such as Mark Rothko’s." This program starts at 3:00 p.m.
