Moore writes foreword for book by former monk

At the end of May 2006, God on Your Own: Finding A Spiritual Path Outside Religion by Joseph Dispenza will be available from Jossey-Bass. After high school, Dispenza joined a Roman Catholic order, the Order of Holy Cross and spent his first year in complete silence. He lived a monk's life for eight years. In his foreword for Dispenza's book, Thomas Moore writes,
"Joseph Dispenza and I have much in common. We know monastic life firsthand, and we know Christian theology. When we were very young, something stirred to turn us toward an unknown spiritual focus, though the forms shifted over the years, the path of seeking is intact. I admire many elements in his story, especially the willingness to pursue intuition in service of his unique spiritual destiny. He takes the spiritual life seriously and yet wears it lightly."
